Royal Blue

The area of Shoreditch located within Central and East London is the nicest place to walk around and have lunch. They also have the nicest second hand shops and markets.

This look of today is casual and playful at the same time, I really like all the colours of the blouse because that way you can wear it with almost anything. I have combined it with black boots and black jeans, but if you want to go out and have dinner you can also wear it with any kind of heels, it’s all up to you!

What I was wearing: Blouse – Pretty little thing, Jeans – Monki, Shoes – Dr.Martens, Handbag – Bulgari.

Today, I wanted to create a look that is sophisticated and youthful all at once, perfect for a day walking around the city!

I paired a light cream sweater with a faux fur coat, together with some printed trousers. To finalise the look I added nike sneakers with a light coloured fanny pack.

Life in leather

Just when I thought I was ready for the photo shoot, it started to rain. And yet, this did not stop us  from trying to make it work.

For today’s look I wanted to wear somethig edgy but fashionable. I really like the fit and look of this faux leather dress. This item, just as shown in the pictures , can be worn with a turtle neck in the cold days or  by itself if it is warm and it will still look good. To finalise the look I wore black boots that really complement the dress!

What I was wearing: Dress – H&M, Turtleneck – New Look, BootsDR. Martens.

As some of you may know, snake prints have been around for a while and they still are!

So for this look I wanted to keep it casual but playful at the same time. In order to do so, I put on my black turtle neck, my snake printed skirt and some black boots. To finish the look I added my black leather bag, some small gold details – accessories I would always wear since they complement every outfit. This look is comfortable and easy to wear on your day-to-day routine and even on a night out!

A Touch of colour

In Amsterdam we have been having grey skies day after day. It can be quite hard on the mood not to see the sun for a long period of time. Therefore I brightened up my pictures by choosing this really nice place as background called Raïnaraï a restaurant at the Prinsengracht.

What I was wearing: Coat – Stradivarius, Sweater – H&M, Trousers – Stradivarius, Boots – Dr.Martens.

Cozy in white

Loving my faux fur coat, these coats were in already last year and nothing has stopped me from wearing them this new year either. Styling these kind of jackets brings an elegant touch to the look, without even having to put too much effort into it. I’ve combined this coat with jeans, a simple beige sweater, white sneakers and a LV handbag.

What I was wearing: Jacket/Sweater/Jeans – H&M, Shoes – Fila, Earrings – Zara, Bag – Louis Vuitton

Pretty in pink

It’s no secret that I’m a number one fan of the pink Fila jacket and have been for the last year. I’ve combined this jacket with grey Kappa trousers to look good and stay comfortable on and off the bike.

Of course you can also wear them in summer but you’d have to unbutton almost all  the side-seam buttons. This look is quite sportive and trendy at the same time perfect for a walk in the park or to go shopping

Autumn is calling

Autumn is the season when it’s hard to plan an outfit ahead of time because the weather seems to change by the minute. Especially in the rainy city of Amsterdam, it can be quite tricky. However, today we were lucky and had one of the nicest temperatures for the month of November.

For the look of today,  I wore  a checked blazer –  which you can use either as a bold statement piece or as the  ‘final touch’ to your layered look  – a beige turtleneck sweater,  blue wide leg jeans and white sneakers. I added a sophisticated touch to this outfit  with a small Louis Vuitton handbag that can carry just enough to survive for an afternoon in the city centre.

What I was wearing: Blazer – H&M, Sweater/Jeans – Abercrombie & Fitch, Bag – Louis Vuitton, Sunglasses – Max Mara and Sneakers – Nike.

How to wear blue

Amsterdam is having really cold temperatures, but that didn’t stop us from going outside and shooting a new look.

I created this bold look inspired by the marine colour palette. Red and blue provide a picture-perfect colour combination and create a confident image.  I added a grey sweater which has the same colours as the jacket and a black denim skirt that has a zipper from top to the bottom. I completed this look by wearing black Vans and an Adidas backpack.

What I was wearing:  Coat – Please, Sweater – Subdued, Skirt – Abercrombie & Fitch, Shoes – Vans, Backpack – Adidas, Panties – H&M

Sunshine on a cloudy day

Who said we can’t wear colourful clothes in autumn? The best way to feel good in those cold and cloudy days is to wear bright coloured clothes, and that’s what I tried to do with this look.

For today, I am wearing a bright pink faux fur coat, combined with a striped top and flared dark blue pants. To finish up the look I added black leather boots and some gold accessories. This outfit can be worn any time of the day (of course you can also wear this look with flats or sneakers, because those boots aren’t made for walking…)

What I was wearing: Faux fur coat – Most Wanted, Top/Jeans- Abercrombie & Fitch, Boots – Sacha, Accessories – Stradivarius and Claire’s.

Dressed like Autumn (kind of)

Amsterdam has been having quite nice temperatures for the month of October, so we could still enjoy the last warm sun rays of Autumn.

For the outfit of today I wanted to dress up casually, combining black faux leather pants, with a white sleeveless turtle neck top. To finish up the look I added white nike techno trainers with a monogram LV bag. This outfit is easy to wear and perfect for a night out or even walking around the city.

What I was wearing:  Top & Pants – ZARA,  Shoes – Nike , Handbag– Louis Vuitton (Néo Noé World Tour), Sunglasses – Second hand shop.

Autumn leaves are falling

The modern film museum of Amsterdam (EYE) is probably the most impressive building there is. It provides working spaces, expositions, cafe’s and restaurants with a stunning view of Amsterdam. I highly recommend you going to this film museum because you can spend hours walking through the expositions and afterwards you can always enjoy a cup of coffee at the terrace.

The look I was wearing was perfect for this kind of weather because it wasn’t to warm or to cold. I wore a red and blue coat, combined with a beige top and black jeans. To finalise the look I added black ankle vans and some gold necklaces.

What I was wearingCoat – Please, Top – Zara, Jeans – Monki, Shoes – Vans, Necklaces – Stradivarius.

Buzzing for summer

Summer has already started and I can’t wait to post more about my outfits. What I love the most about making new posts is looking for wonderful canal houses, everything looks better with a nice background!

The look of today is quite simple, I’m wearing a white and grey striped romper combined with a blue, red and white bag. Further I added gold earrings, a bracelet and a necklace to finish off the outfit. And if you want to take this to the next level,  you just have to add a statement piece just like these thick sandals from Tommy Jeans.

What I was wearing: Romper – Bershka, Shoes/Handbag – Tommy Jeans, Sunglasses – Second hand shop and Bralette – Abercrombie & Fitch

Last Days of Spring

Being back from the lovely but noisy city of New York, makes you appreciate even more how tranquil Amsterdam actually is.

The look I went for this time is very appropriate for spring, keeping it really simple by just matching both black together with white and adding some extra accessories like gold earring and beige sunglasses.  The linen printed skirt is has already a really busy print, so I decided to combine it with a simple long sleeve top, some black and white vans and a black leather handbag. This outfit is comfortable and easy to wear for every day life.

What I was wearing:  Top – Club London, Skirt – Bershka, Shoes – Vans, Handbag – Rebecca Minkoff, Sunglasses – Max Mara.

New York, New York

The one thing I love the most about being in this city is the amount of walking you have to do. Therefore I had to wear comfortable clothes, especially shoes but without losing the fashionable part…

For the look of today I put on a black skirt that is perfect for this time of the year since summer is around the corner. Further,  I added a cropped polka dotted top, with white sneakers, I prefer to wear these shoes because they add the perfect amount of height for me.

This look is a great choice for all occasions, from a day walking in city to a night out eating dinner with your friends. For a final special touch, I added black sunglasses, a black small bag pack and to finalise the look some small gold accessories. I always have a lot of fun creating a casual look like this. I hope you do too!

What I was wearing: Top – Bohoo, Skirt – Second hand shop (don’t know the brand), Socks & Shoes – Fila, Bag – Adidas, Sunglasses – Ray Ban

Rainy spring

As some of you may know, the weather of Amsterdam is unpredictable. One day it can be nice, warm and sunny and the other day cold and rainy. Therefore for the look of today I had to cover myself up with long jeans and a colourful leather jacket to NOT match the grey sky…

For this look I wanted to keep it casual but playful at the same time, in order to do so I put on my high waisted jeans, a white t-shirt that matches my socks and shoes. To finalise the look I added a bit of colour therefore I wore a pink leather jacket, that matches my earrings and my red and pink fanny pack. This outfit is comfortable and easy to wear on your day-to-day.

What I was wearing: Jacket – Tommy Hilfiger, Top – Monki, Jeans – H&M, Socks – Fila, Shoes – Fila, Earrings – Bershka, Fanny Pack – Asos.

Ready For Spring

Amsterdam is one of the best cities to explore the nice canal houses. Every street is different in its own unique way,  each has its  own style, colour and design, just like this beautiful street, close by central station.  Strolling through this area is the best way to enjoy this city and escape the bustle of the tourist areas.

For the look of today I put on blue, green and white striped suit, combined with a green knitted t-shirt and black shoes. To finalise this look I added gold earrings to match with these sunglasses.

This look is great for  a day out in warm weather, you can even wear it to go to work, just combine it with stilettos or more formal shoes.

What I was wearing:  Sunglasses – Ray Ban, Top, Jacket and Pants – Stradivarius, Shoes – Mango, Earrings – H&M.

All you need is red

The one thing I love the most about making a new post every week is to look for different and special buildings around Amsterdam. Just like this astonishing canal house at the Herengracht, the yellow details on the façade makes this a really unique house.

For the look of today I put on a red shirt that is perfect for this time of the year since spring has finally arrived to Amsterdam. Further,  I added straight high waisted jeans, with black sneakers, I prefer to wear these shoes because they add the perfect amount of height, since the jeans are quite long for me.

This look is a great choice for all occasions, from a day in the city to a night out eating dinner with your friends. For a final special touch, I added beige sunglasses and a red, blue and white bag. I always have a lot of fun creating a casual look like this. I hope you do too!

Spring has sprung

Spring has sprung, but winter is not giving up just yet in Amsterdam, therefore you still need a jacket to keep the cold away.

For this shoot I wanted to create an unpretentious atmosphere that’s why I chose as location a typical Amsterdam’s canal house that shows all geometrical and perfect details of the facade. The people that live in this house can definitely call themselves lucky!

This time I wanted to keep my look nice and sophisticated, combining a woollen jacket, a sheer top together with a black one on top and simple high waisted jeans.

To finalise the outfit I wore black shoes, a blue and red watch and a handmade printed handbag.

This outfit is perfect for dinner or just walking around the city centre! Have fashion questions? Ask Me! Submit your own fashion-related questions for possible inclusion in the next column by going to the contact form.

The heart of Amsterdam

I love the atmosphere in this neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The area boasts a park called Vondelpark, located in the south-western part of the city. Properties here are probably the largest and most expensive in the city centre. Most of them are used as offices, hotels, embassies and some of them as homes.

Today, I wanted to create a look that is sophisticated and youthful all at once, perfect for a night out or a dinner date, since, nowadays,  wearing sweatpants is being trendy. I paired a chic light cream top with dark blue wide fit pants. I think the side stripes make them feminine, unique and elegant. They grab just the right amount of attention!

I opted for black sneakers but you can also wear them with a pair of heels and take this look from day to night!

REM-eiland

The REM island was a platform in the North Sea, 9 kilometers off the coast of Noordwijk. In 1964 commercial television broadcasts under the name TV Noordzee (north sea) were provided from 12 August to 14 December. Currently REM island is transformed in a nice cozy restaurant located at IJ.

This time I wanted to keep my look as sporty as possible, combining a black puffer jacket with black statement jogging pants that are so comfortable and perfect for any occasion.
To finalise the outfit I wore some black ankle boots, a white t-shirt, pink sunglasses and a black backpack. This outfit is perfect for a day at the park or just walking around the city centre!

The aristocratic charm

Keizersgracht (Emperor’s Canal) is one of the three main canals of Amsterdam. It boats some of the most beautiful buildings and houses of the city! Therefore I decided to take  pictures right in front of this house that embodies everything I love about Amsterdam.

I wanted to keep it simple by just wearing these checked high rise pants with a light blue knitted sweater. I combined them with black sneakers and some vintage sunglasses from a thrift shop. This outfit is cozy yet comfortable for work or just for your day off.

I hope you enjoyed this post, as much as I did making it !

Light indigo

“The Dutch have jeans in their blood, Denim fits their mindset,” quoted Adriano Goldschmied, co-founder of the Italian Diesel and also known as the “Godfather of Denim”.

Amsterdam is known for their obsession with Denim. A lot of labels are based in the Netherlands such as Denham, G-star, BDD, kings of indigo and many more…

That is why I created this ”denim on denim” look combining an oversized denim jacket with asymmetric high waisted jeans. This outfit can be worn during a walk in the city or the park, it’s simple but comfortable at the same time!

You can never go wrong with denim…

Amsterdam’s hidden gems

Amsterdam is a city full of culturally minded sightseers, but if you have a reputation for seeking out hidden gems wherever you are, you will love this beautiful building  nearby Vondelpark.

This time I wanted to keep my look as simple as possible, combining a grey knitted sweater with black and white statement pants that are so comfortable because they have a high percentage of elastane.
To finalise the outfit I wore some black and white ankle high vans, a long bomber jacket and a light purple bag. This outfit is perfect for a day at the park or just walking around the city centre!

I hope you enjoy it !
